Talmadge "Midge" H. Yeatts, Jr., DVM 

graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986.  Upon graduation, Dr. Yeatts joined Dr. Donahue's staff at Churchland Animal Clinic and began practicing small animal medicine.

Dr. Yeatts enjoys spending time with his wife, Susan and his children Lexie and Tal, III.  He spends his time off at the beach with his family, gardening, traveling to see friends and family and attending sporting events.

Dr. Yeatts' four-legged family includes:  Purrcell (domestic shorthair), Matilda (minature Australian Shepherd/Lab mix), and Bella Zita (black Labrador Retriever).

Dr. Yeatts is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association and the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association.

Richard "Rick" Scott Wassell, DVM

graduated from North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991.  He joined the staff at Churchland Animal Clinic in 1991.

Dr. Wassell spends his free time with his wife, Dianna and son, Scott.  When he's not busy doing yard work, he may be cuddled up with his cat, Smudge or playing with his dogs, Maggie and Buddy.

 Dr. Wassell is a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, the American Veterinary Medical Association , VirginiaVeterinary Medical Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association.

John W. Hamilton, DVM

graduated from Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1985 and joined the staff at Churchland Animal Clinic in September 2002.

When he's not telling jokes at the clinic, Dr. Hamilton spends time with his wife and two sons.  He also enjoys spending time outdoors and jogging.

The Hamilton family shares their home with two dogs, Lexie and Donny.  Dr. Hamilton is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Sara H. Ray, DVM

graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998.  She joined our clinic in July of 2005.

Dr. Ray and her husband, Dave have a daughter, Alicia and a son, Jackson.  When she's not busy healing pets, Dr. Ray enjoys reading novels, making stained glass, playing with her children and cooking.  Her family pets include a Labrador Retriever Mix, Barley and a domestic long haired cat, Oskar.

Dr. Ray enjoys dealing with challenging skin and eye cases.  She says "There is nothing more satisfying to see than a pet's skin clear up after a chronic problem."  Dr. Ray is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, and Virginia Veterinary Medical Association.

Cherish - Hospital Administrator

joined our team in 2007 as the Hospital Administrator for both Churchland Animal Clinic and North Suffolk Animal Clinic.  With over 7 years of veterinary management experience, Cherish brings her human resource knowledge and marketing expertise to both practices.  Cherish and her husband, Jeff enjoy movies and spending time outdoors with their 4 dogs, Cinnamon (Boxer), Massey Fergeson (Boxer), Chewy (Chesapeake Bay Retriever), and Foster (Chesapeake Bay Retriever).

Angee - Customer Services Manager

joined our team in 2008.  With over 10 years of veterinary customer service experience, Angee is a valuable resource.  She enjoys outdoor activities including hiking with her dogs and fishing.  She also enjoys spending quality time with her friends.  Angee shares her life with her dogs, Rio (Australian Shepherd), Lark (English Setter), and Flint (Black Labrador Retriever) and her cats, Tony Stewart and Cheddar.

Christine - Receptionist

joined our team in 2007.  Chris has been married to her husband, Craig for 21 years and they enjoy spending time with their daughter, Sarah.  Christine also loves sewing, doing ceramics, or Japanese Washi-Paper.  She is currently the Secretary of her Homeowners Association.  Christine shares her home with her two cats Misty and Binks.

Jessica - Receptionist

joined our team in 2008.  When she's not busy smiling or telling a story at the receptionist desk, she may be spending time with her Maltese "Minnie" or with family and friends.

Jennifer M. - Licensed Technician

joined Churchland Animal Clinic from 1985 to 1989 and returned in 1998.  She graduated from Blue Ridge Community College in 1985 and became a licensed technician that same year.  She is active in outdoor activities including soccer, softball, camping, hiking, and biking.  She also shares her home with her black lab.

Jennifer H. - Licensed Technician

joined our team in 2005.  She graduated from Blue Ridge Community College in 2005 and obtained her license that year.  She and her husband, Rick enjoy spending time with their dog, Dakota and their domestic medium haired cat,Chester.  Jennifer also enjoys playing pool and spending time at the beach.

Camie - Licensed Technician

became a part of our team in 2008 when she and her husband, Jeff relocated to Virginia from Florida.  Camie graduated from St. Petersburg College in 2004 and obtained her license in Florida that year.  Camie obtained her Virginia Technician License upon relocation here.  Camie loves spending time with her husband; daughter, Peyton; and their golden retrievers, Kodie & Morgan when she is not fishing in Florida or traveling.

Sylvia - Assistant

started at Churchland Animal Clinic in 2006.  She and her fiance, Ryan share their lives with their dog, Dixie (Shepherd/Beagle Mix) and their cat, Squirt (Brown Tabby).  When she's not working, Sylvia enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching movies, and eating good food.

Amber - Assistant

joined our team in 2007 after graduating from Vet Tech Institute in December, 2006.  Amber and her husband, Derek enjoy spending time with their son, Matthew Alexander.  Amber adores her two ferrets, Luie and Luna and also enjoys working out at the gym and tanning.  Animals are Amber's passion.  She says "Nothing makes me feel better than knowing at the end of the day, I helped a pet and educated an owner on how to keep their pet healthy."

Kristen - Assistant

became a part of our team in 2008.  Kristen's passion is the veterinary field and she is currently working on her bachelor's degree so she can continue on the path to Vet School.  When she is not playing with her labs Bailey and Lucy, she enjoys hanging out with her family and friends.  She has previously worked at a Doggy Day Care and received her certificate for veterinary assisting at Pruden Center for Industry and Technology.  She loves working with our clients and their pets.

Laura - Assistant

joined our clinic in 2009.  She graduated from Colgate University in 2003 with a Bachelor's Degree in Music.  She is active in roller derby and also enjoys playing the piano.  She shares her life with her dogs Abigail and Roxy and her cat, Gracie Growleypants.  She is a member of Dominion Derby Girls, Delta Delta Delta, and Colgate University President's Club.
